PREMIERE: Lucky 757 – “Enough to Make a Grown Man Cry” Feat. Matt’s Blues

There’s a rock and roll revival going on in Portsmouth, VA-based and it’s a family affair. Headed by the guitar-wielding father/son duo Danny and Cory Spivey, Lucky 757 offers a hard-nosed rockabilly sound tailor-made for wide open roads and whiskey sunsets.

Their forthcoming EP, Memphis Sun, finds Lucky 757 returning to Sun Studios recording live and joined by Matt Jordan, the key player for Rev. Horton Heat. Today, GroundSounds is happy to be bringing you the exclusive premiere of its latest single, “Enough to Make a Grown Man Cry.”

The raucous single is a retro romp highlighted by surf-rock style guitars and Jordan’s incendiary keys.

The band further details; “This is the story of a guy who wakes up to find his woman has left him, took off, without telling him nothing. It’s a hard luck story I suppose. The poor guy can’t even afford milk.”
