Florida non-profit Rock By The Sea’s mission started out as a simple idea back in the mid-2000s: music lovers plus live music events equal a failsafe way to raise money for charitable causes. Over a span of 14 years, the group has proved this theory to be successful with a network of volunteers, musicians, and fans collaborating to raise nearly $800,000 for meaningful causes—all while having a great time at festivals and shows across the country.

The organization has evolved from live events to writing and recording its own music and is poised to release its second collection of songs, Write By the Sea Vol. 2, on June 26. The album—created by a range of talented contributors who donated their time to congregate in a St. George Island, Florida house to write, produce, engineer and record the project from the ground up—follows 2018’s debut release, with both offering up the vibe that has moved along the festivals for so many years.

Included on the new collection is “Paradise” by Virginia-based Bradley Rhodes and Nashville-based Shannon LaBrie – both seasoned writers and performers. We are honored to be able to premiere the new song on GroundSounds today. “Paradise” is at once calming and energizing. A big memorable hook combines with delicate and beautifully harmonized vocals to create an absolute gem. We are excited to share it and hope you enjoy!

In their own words:

Bradley: “It’s a song about following your intuition and evolving into the fullest version of yourself. When freed from outside opinions and stifling social structures, we’re able to create and live within our own paradise.”

Shannon: “The day Brad and I wrote ‘Paradise,’ was just that…paradise. We were sitting on the deck, overlooking the gulf, the sun was approaching golden hour and music was playing. I don’t know if it could get any better than that.”
