Nashville’s pop singer-songwriter Jonathan Baines recently released his debut single, “Just As You Are,” marking his official arrival as an artist. The song sparks familiar earworms of artists like Sam Smith and John Legend–instantly showcasing that Baines has put in his 10,000 hours.
Born in North Carolina and raised in Delaware, Baines has southern blood with a mix of the northeastern shore. Music was all around his upbringing as he was introduced to—and still highly influenced by—all the pop, soul, vocal, and gospel legends across the decades at a young age. Some of his biggest musical influences to date include Dean Martin, Coldplay, Adele, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Marvin Gaye and early Whitney Houston.
Today we are excited to premiere his new track “In Between” – streaming below. The song showcases Baines’ impressive songwriting skill and vocal chops. “In Between” is quite simply – beautiful. Enjoy!
