Painted Young finalized their current line-up in 2019, a trio indelibly linked to the impassioned New Jersey scene, with Chris Santos, Bailey Hand and Ray McGirr meeting through years of playing shows on the circuit.

Emotive, hook-laden and intricately delivered, Painted Young’s sound shows clear roots in pop-punk/alternative rock with nods to Yellowcard, All Time Low and Grayscale clear for all to see.

Having supported the likes of Drake Bell and SayWeCanFly, Painted Young’s charismatic and hook-heavy brand of pop-rock transfers seamlessly from record to stage, showing their aptitude and enthusiasm for the live show.

Today we’re thrilled to premiere their new EP The Smallest Similarities – streaming below! The 6-track EP is pure pop songwriting at its best. “45 After Midnight” sets the tone right away with an up tempo sing-a-long jam. Painted Young will remind you in the best ways of bands like All Time Low, Sub-Radio, and Smallpools. The tunes are familiar, yet unique at the same time – all leading up to a brilliant closer in “Sunset.” These guys simply know their way around a pop hook. We’re excited to share this one!

In their own words:

“”The Smallest Similarities” showcases us rebranding ourselves with a new, bigger sound. We wanted to use our collectively wide spectrum of influences and put as much of it into this record as possible. At the same time, we also wanted to be true to ourselves and simply make music that we would enjoy listening to.”
